When it comes to cleansing I like to feel like I’m making a difference to my skin. I can sometimes become a little blase about it but if I enjoy it then I’ll make the effort. With Superfacialist by Una Brennan I’ve not really tried much beyond the Tea Flower mask which I did like. I avoid anything that gets hype I’m such a cynic which is why it took so long for me to try these out.

Vitamin C+ Skin Renew Cleansing Oil 200ml £10.99

Last year I was so sure I wanted the Shu Uemura Cleansing Oil but couldn’t part with £30 for 150ml! I mainly wanted it for make-up removal & remember Vivianna Does Makeup (The Anna Edit) was raving about it. With this I totally understand how you can fall in love with something when it’s this good. The oil is easy to massage in over makeup & it breaks it down really well.

It doesn’t irritate my eyes, I can get mascara off without doing the where’s my flannel dance flailing for the tap to clean them. I’ve enjoyed this for 4 months as my everyday cleanser which is a long time for me. I can do a quick once over or take my time to massage it in. This is cleaning without striping my skin. My only wish is that there was a pump so I’m not guessing how much to use versus how much I should use?

Probiotic Micellar Cleansing Water 200ml £6.99

I do like a good micellar water & have gotten on with a few of them in the past. The point of them for me is to feel like I’m cleansing with water. They should be good for sensitive skin but still get’s your makeup off. I picked this one up as I’d enjoyed the oil so much but thought it could be my even lazier cleanse. For mornings when I only have the brain cells to get dress & brush my teeth! I think for this only it’s an alright quick cleanse.

However if I get this in my eyes even a little they sting so bad it’s pointless using it. I also find this leaves a film on your skin where many others don’t & I don’t like this. So now it’s used as a first quick cleanse to remove makeup but I’m using it up just to not waste it at this point. I thought this would rekindle my liking of micellar waters but now I see them as a cop-out to doing a decent cleanse instead.

So it’s easy to see that I’m a fan of oil over water when it comes to a good all-rounder cleanser. When you see I’ve still got a third of the oil left so that should last another few months. As for the water it was a much more recent purchase I think around January I think I’ve used it 4 times on & off as I’ve tried to find a way to use it. Brush cleaner maybe? As for Una Brennan I’m definitely going to be trying more of her range out.

Have you got any cleansing oils you think I’d like?

Or a micellar water that I could fall in love with?
