This will just be a bit of a show & tell because I just couldn’t leave it one more day without showing you this gorgeous blusher. I’ve had this in my possession for over 5 months & it’s going to another 6 before it gets worn. When my sister went to New York last year this was the only item I asked for which beauty blogger wise is being well restrained. She didn’t know what Sephora was other than it having the item I wanted which was a Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush. When my Save The Dates went out recently it all just became apparent how real this stuff is rather than just the mess of planning it all.
Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush
It’s even more special because not only is it a reminder for me but it also signifies the week that my sister got romantically proposed to on Broklyn Bridge & is also getting married but in 2016. Other than a swatch above this won’t get used until my wedding day which is going to be on Halloween. Why? Because were a little mad like that, we’re big Tim Burton fans we like things a little darker & more alternative in style. Yet when I was trawling google images & the Sephora site for Tarte blushers & saw that one was named Blushing Bride I was over come with girly “must have it, need that item or I’ll die feeling”. It felt like it was just meant to be. My sister being amazing went through multiple Sephora’s to find it me & even apologised because it didn’t come in a box, it was on display but hadn’t been used. This played even more into the it was meant to be category of fairy tale wedding. I won’t be having a huge wedding just close family & a few friends but it will be unique & as far from normal as I can get!
You wouldn’t believe how happy I was that I could just about swatch this down the center without doing much damage to the pattern, it’s just too beautiful. That being said it’s the first piece of make-up that is heading into my wedding make-up bag & will be used. I’m still in two minds as to whether I will use it afterwards or keep it as a treasured memory. I think I’ll want to use is it but maybe for special occasions as I will always have the packaging to keep. On Sephora Blushing Bride is described as a plum rose but to me it looks more like a rose-pink maybe that will change when I wear it. As far as the Tarte Amazonian Clay Blushers go they’re a cult classic beauty blogger item & I’m thinking of ordering one from Qvc if they have any stock left!
Rock N Roll Bride Magazine
In the first photo I had to background it with the first 3 issues of Rock N Roll Bride because it’s just too great not too. I’ve been engaged over 6 years so it’s been a long time coming but Kat’s blog has given me the inspiration & knowledge that our wedding doesn’t have to be anything we didn’t want it to be. Now that it’s become a magazine it’s even more accessible to unique & alternative brides & grooms. It’s bi-monthly & worth every penny so get down to your local WHSmiths & pick up the best bridal magazine there is.
I can’t leave this without giving a big thanks to the creator of the Etsy shop Diablo Jo for my Save The Date cards. They were hand drawn which made them even more special. She’s quick to reply to emails & happy to create something new & alternative with you. Her designs are Rockabilly in style including other items like t-shirts, mugs & hair accessories.
Do you have any make-up you keep for sentimental reasons? What do you think of the Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush?
