I’m pretty sure I can’t be the only person who buys shampoo less often than conditioner? Let’s put it this way when I was younger I was certain it’s why hair care at Boots was & is always on a 3 for 2 offer of some sort! I always get through twice as much conditioner as shampoo which is why when I picked these up last month no shampoo. I always like to use hair masks over normal conditioner as I have wrecked over dyed hair. I’m in two minds at the moment as to whether I go the Lush henna route or fork out for my hair dresser to colour it. Not that hair dye won’t do damage but hopefully less damage. That & the Lush henna isn’t going to damage it but it’s such a pain in the arse to do. Back to why I bought it, let’s say it was more the offer on a the time versus the chance that Claudia Schiffer had all that much imput. She’s in the title simply so you know roughly which range I’m on about. Essence Ultime just seems like a terrible name alone until you add a celebrity to the mix and Ta Dah!
Essence Ultime Diamond Color
I picked this up as it’s for colored, highlighted hair. No highlights but I guess I missed that bit when I picked them up. I would have shown the mask inside the pot but at this point it’s all gone. It’s just like most other hair masks white but it’s very thick in consistency. I would scoop it out & spread it between my hands then comb my fingers through the length of my hair. Let’s start with the only negative & that’s the smell. It’s almost like they were trying for perfumed but got chemical instead. That been said it’s not the end of the world but I’d say the Toni & Guy Nourish had a nicer smell. I would say this for me is a bit run of the mill (blah!) It did condition & made my hair easy to brush out once dry. I did like that I could apply it at the start of a bath & leave it in & when I washed it out it didn’t feel like there was any residue. I just feel like the Essence Ultime mask was how the conditioner should have been & then the mask should have been even better than that. There’s a reason that I’ve gone back to the Garnier Ultimate Blends Marvelous Transformer & that’s the standard conditioner & it’s better than this range. I know it seems like I’ve not loved these but I did get along with them just fine. I just happen to like something else more. Maybe if I had highlighted hair it might have felt like it was doing more?
