I’ve wanted to order this Chocolate Suede Color Tattoo ever since I saw it on Superdrug’s website but I kept looking in stores in the hopes of swatching it. When I still came up empty-handed I caved & ordered it online, I wasn’t disappointed..
If you see this in store comment below so other people know where to find it. I tried both Sheffield city center shops & Barnsley too to no avail either. I like that Superdrug give you free delivery on orders over £10 & it came within the 3-5 working days. I’ll write a little about that next week as some bits got sent wrong & they’re sending out replacements.
Chocolate Suede is the third leather effect color tattoo to make in to the UK shores. On the left I’ve swatched it as is from one swipe & then how it looks blended out, you can get a lot of variation in shades from just this alone. On the right is Creamy Beige one of the other leather effect shades, the third which I don’t own in Vintage plum which I’m still on the fence about buying. The leather effect color tattoos have a fine shimmer compared to the original ones giving refection & stopping them looking flat.
I wanted to give you an overall feel of the colour & how it looks on. It’s creamy to the touch but as you blend it out it sets in place. I like to apply a little using a flat eyeshadow brush, synthetic seems to work best. Then blend this out with a fluffy blending brush to soften up and out above the crease. This took about 10 minutes to do, I blended it out as much as possible then used my Essence eyeshadow in blockbuster to define between shadow & brow. It’s a matte & soft so it blurs the edges, cleans any mishaps & is a good natural inner corner highlight.
I think these are quite easy to use & can create a whole eye look with just this alone. You could blend it all out for a pale wash then ramp the colour up later if you were heading out after work, its versatile.
After 6 Hours
It was getting dark but I wanted to get a photo to show how it’s lasted over the 6 hours I was out & about. I think it did pretty well, all except for the crease where my eyes are hooded it seemed to get rubbed away a little. As these leather effect ones are drier I think they hold up a bit better than the originals. I wouldn’t expect them to last 24 hours but 8 even maybe 10 it could. I even think that with a finger you could top it up on the lid as the part I blended out didn’t budge at all. How often do you spend your day with your eyes closed in public anyhow?
As always the Maybelline Color Tattoos are £4.99 (they are 3 for 2 in Boots & Superdrug) however the Chocolate Suede only seems to be available in Superdrug online. Please correct me if you’ve seen it in Boots stores but I haven’t seen them in there yet.

Which are your favourite shades of Color Tattoo? I think it’s a tie between the leather effects, maybe I’ve come to like the softer more wearable shades as On & On Bronze looks very glittery in comparison? What do you think?
