Today was a bit of a spur of the moment thing, it’s a sunny day & rarely that makes me want to take the day off work. Although that’s exactly what I did, it was 7.30 am and I knew I couldn’t be bothered to do my hair especially on a hot day like today. Out came the Batiste and put it up in a low bun. Next came the makeup & I kinda knew it needed to be simple, clean but I still wanted to look Positively Dashing with the hopes of it still being there by the end of the day.

Mac Pro Longwear Lipcreme in Positively Dashing
If you’ve seen past lipstick posts of mine you’ll know I have a thing for berry shades. Whatever the season I can’t help but reach for them but I can never seem to decide which shade. I like mattes but Diva was way too drying even for a matte but long wear is the main thing I’m looking for. I choose positively dashing as it’s a little brighter than I would normally go, Mac describes it as a mid-tone ‘berry’ blue-red. After applying the Clinique All About Lips this went on easily. I’ve got used to the flat shaped bullets now and it does feel strange to begin with. The lipstick is creamy but has a slightly tacky feeling which I’m guessing is the long wear part of it. I didn’t use a lip liner and managed to not make a mess of it luckily.
Mac Positively Dashing – 9 Hours Later
The obvious thing here is the lovely shine across my face from Mua’s Undress My Skin melting off me in the heat. The Laura Mercier Longwear pencil was exactly where I left it but the Beauty Uk eyeliner did gather at the inner corner of my eyes which isn’t a good look. Positively Dashing however did rather well, the tackiness about half way through died down to a dry finish & about 90% of the pigment was still on my lips in a stained look. They did feel a little dry but this stuff stuck around through a lot. There was iced coffee, a Subway and multiple other drinks and it was there just a muted matte shade.
Last but not least I wanted show you an odd eye photo. This is to show the BeautyUK Eyeliner did stay in the line it just sadly bled into the inner corner but this happened to every eyeliner I’ve bought used in that way. Also the Revlon Photo Ready Mascara held up really well too, this was just one coat and the photo was taken at the end of the day. This one sometimes clumps on the bottom lashes but I can forgive it for it’s super blackness and fix it.
