5 Day Trial – Evercalm Cleanser, Day Cream & Eye Gel

This set came from a magazine last month I think. I usually pick issues up just for the freebies and I hadn’t tried Ren before but it’s been on my radar. I can never justify to myself buying it as it’s so expensive, not Emma Hardie expensive (most of us have swooned over that one at £34 a pot) but out of my feeling guilty to buy it then find out I don’t like it. I like to find out if my skin will react with the psoriasis I have it has reacted before with bad consequences for me. But I am more than willing when this appeared on the magazine stands. This is equivalent to to £12 worth of product.

Ren Trial Kit

The set includes:

  • Ren Evercalm Gentle Cleansing Milk 10 ml – Gently removed dirt, pollution and make up.
  • Ren Evercalm Global Protection Day Cream 10 ml – Hydrates and replenishes. Trains the skin to be less sensitive.
  • Ren Active 7 Eye Gel 3 ml – Cools and refreshes. Reduces the appearance of puffiness making the eye contour smoother.

These are now all practically empty after daily use morning and evening for 5 straight days. I don’t know if I was using more than I was meant to but I used what I though was necessary. Overall I haven’t had any reactions, I can honestly say I don’t like the scent in the Evercalm products it just didn’t suit me personally but it doesn’t hang around too long so not that bad.

Ren Ever Calm Gentle Cleansing Milk - Review

Ren Gentle Cleansing Milk 150 ml £16

That works out it would last around 2 1/2 months if repurchased so not too bad.

It really was not what I expected as I read milk and assumed a thin consistency and it really isn’t its a thick white cream that when applied and rubbed in turns to a balm like consistency  and practically disappeared as I massaged it onto my face. I liked how it applied and my skin felt nice and clean after removing with warm damp face cloth but as it was such a short test I can’t honestly tell if it did that much more for me beyond other cleansers I did have a break out of spots on my chin but I can’t point and say if it was this or not or I’m just having a bad week. Rather than making me want to buy it’s made me interest in other cleansers they do. I’m more tempted to try the Clear Calm Clarifying Clay Cleanser as even though I have dry skin it is spot prone but it’s £18 maybe a birthday treat to start the new year off with.

Ren Evercalm Global Protection Day Cream - Review

Ren Global Protection Day Cream 50 ml £27

This is way too expensive for me. I’d be repurchasing every 25 days and that’s a lot for me.

On the other hand other than the scent I absolutely loved using this. My skin felt soft once it was applied and then it carried on all through the day which for where I work is near impossible with the heating drying my skin out normally. The little bit of psoriasis (super dry skin) was also kept moisturized maybe 6 out of 8 hours at work which is better than anything else I’ve used. It made my skin feel good. It does take a bit of rubbing to get it all to sink in but it did and not left with any residue.

Ren Vita Mineral Active Eye Gel - Review

Ren Active Eye Gel 15 ml £20

I haven’t finished this and maybe only used half so that would last around 1 2/3 month roughly. This is hard to tell as I can’t see a difference so I’m not sure how to review it. I didn’t react and the gel is a nice feeling to apply but with such a short trial I don’t think you would see results this fast. I also think eye creams are long-term use where you see in 5 – 10 years time compared with other women who don’t use them it’s that kind of product. The scent is very mild which I did like. This won’t be a repurchase but I’m going to have to find an eye cream I like but I can’t justify it being this one.
