I Love Nude Essence Eyeshadows + Make-up Brushes

If I’m ever near a Wilko store I can’t pass the chance up to take a peek at the Essence stand. If you’ve not seen Essence yet it’s a lovely budget friendly make-up line which also includes lots of nail varnishes in multitudes of textures & effects. There is something for everyone & always a little something I have to pick up myself like this I Love Nude range.

What caught my eye first was the I Love Nude collection which has a set of six eyeshadows ranging from a pale beige through to a dark brown. I chose Vanilla Sugar & My Favourite Tauping which are a nice combination for a base & crease shade. I can’t help but fall in love with the names of these it just makes me smile. They are a little powdery so you need to spend a little longer building the shades up but you get a lot of product for the price so it evens it’s self out in that respect. This neutral eyeshadow pair gets used often to add a little something when I want to wear a bold lip shade. They look slightly shimmery in the pan but you can’t see this when you wear it. I love My Favourite Tauping most & it’s replaced my use of Mac’s Cork eyeshadow as my crease colour of choice.

I’ve kept the best bit’s for last as I think these are the stars of this post. I picked up the angled eyeliner brush & an eyeshadow brush. Sadly one was old stock with the black handle but I really wanted to try it & got it anyway. The new packaging is so much nicer & looks like it’s worth more than is. They are such good value for money for what they are. The vaguely named eyeshadow brush which I guess does cover most applications has lovely soft bristles. I honestly expected it to be scratchy but it was a fluffy soft breeze. I can apply & blend both the nude shades above with this one brush. I can pick up & pat down Vanilla Sugar using it on its side then using the tip which is like a flattened oval shape apply My Favourite Tauping precisely where I want it in the crease.

I got the eyeliner brush because it had a finer line than my Eco Tools angled brush. It’s not been cut perfectly which shows its cheaply made but it made no issue when it came to using it. This has made getting eyeliner tight into my lash line ridiculously easy! I tried winged liner but no brush can change my hooded eyes & my lack of skill in that department. There are even more brushes available they just didn’t have stock in of them which is a shame. I may have to get the angled eyeliner brush again if I see it in the new packaging because it’s so much prettier in turquoise.

I Love Nude Vanilla Sugar & My Favourite Tauping £2.50 each

Precise Angled Eyeliner Brush £1.50

Eyeshadow Brush I can’t seem to find it available online but even the bigger brushes are only £3 so it won’t be more than that.

I did get a lipstick as well but I’m sitting on the fence with that one a little but longer, I just don’t know if it suits me? However I’m not put off going back to try more things as I was happy with what I did get. What are your favourite eyeshadows shades for a neutral eye look? I really want to give the I Love Nude Coffee Bean shade a go.
